Research Interests

Research Interests

Dr. Ackerman's research focuses on finding novel applications of technology and engineering principles to healthcare, education of engineers working in clinical settings as well as  clinical topics within Emergency Medicine. Topics have included acoustics in healthcare, evaluation and development of medical devices, and trauma.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Ackerman's teaching focuses on helping engineering students successfully integrate in clinical settings to identify and solve problems. In addition to formal courses, Dr. Ackerman works with undergraduate and graduate design teams.
