The BIO‑STAR AI Symposium—focused on Safe, Trustworthy, Actionable, and Responsible Artificial Intelligence—is organized by the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. This event brings together academic researchers, industry leaders, practitioners, and students to advance meaningful conversations about artificial intelligence, biomedical data, and their expanding intersection in healthcare and engineering.

The symposium will highlight advancements, challenges, ethical considerations, and emerging opportunities in biomedical AI—helping define the direction of this rapidly evolving field.

  • Produce a comprehensive summary report for the Coulter BME Chair.
  • Publish a field‑defining white paper outlining the future of biomedical AI.
  • Strengthen BME graduates’ expertise in data engineering and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop AI-driven solutions that enhance healthcare for all stakeholders—patients, clinicians, payers, and administrators.
