Coulter BME Capstone Program

The Capstone Design experience is the culmination of your undergraduate journey in biomedical engineering—and a chance to make a real difference. In this two-semester course, senior students work in interdisciplinary teams to identify unmet clinical needs and develop innovative biomedical solutions. From concept to prototype, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned to solve real-world problems for healthcare providers, industry partners, and global communities.

Guided by faculty mentors and industry advisors, students tackle challenges in areas like medical devices, diagnostics, rehabilitation, and global health. The program emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and user-centered design—preparing you for careers in engineering, research, and entrepreneurship.

Showcase Your Work at the Capstone Design Expo

Each semester, student teams present their final projects at the Georgia Tech Capstone Design Expo—one of the largest student design showcases in the country. The Expo brings together students, faculty, industry leaders, and the public to celebrate innovation and explore the future of engineering.
