My research goals as a lecturer at Georgia Tech BME are to create a universal system of intentional assessments that promote concept understanding over content knowledge.

Dr. Gautam’s teaching focuses on developing a strong conceptual foundation in systems and cellular physiology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with emphasis on mechanisms of transport, signaling, and integrated physiological regulation. Dr. Gautam's scholarly interests center on the mechanisms of learning, particularly how instructional design and assessment shape students’ ability to transfer foundational knowledge to solve novel problems.
