Alexis Brown

Alexis serves as Administrative Manager I for the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech. In this role, Alexis coordinates cross-functional initiatives spanning across academic programs, human resources, facilities management, and finance while managing complex projects including lab travel, equipment purchases, and departmental events. Alexis collaborates with stakeholders throughout Georgia Tech's campus to ensure seamless administrative support for faculty, staff, and students.

With more than 20 years of professional experience, Alexis has spent the past decade in higher education administration. Prior to working in academia, Alexis worked for ten years in the medical field as a medical assistant. Her unique blend of healthcare background and administrative expertise enables her to effectively support the department's mission at the intersection of engineering and medicine.

Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Alexis has been a Georgia resident since 1992. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. A former motorcycle rider with a passion for speed and adventure, Alexis also channels creativity through interior decorating—a hobby that evolved into a small business launched in 2019. This same creative energy extends to event planning, bringing a personal touch to both professional and personal celebrations.
