Newly Named Children’s PTC at Georgia Tech Peterson Professorship Recipients Work to Improve the Lives of Kids in Georgia and Beyond

Two researchers at The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University have been awarded Peterson Professorships for their work at the intersection of pediatric care and technology.

Dr. Michelle LaPlaca, whose research focuses on brain injury and concussion, and Dr. W. Hong Yeo, with his work in soft bioelectronics, were recognized for their efforts to advance children’s health through the Pediatric Technology Center—a partnership between Georgia Institute of Technology and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

This professorship will help expand their work translating research into real impact for children’s health.
