To be eligible for graduation, your final 36 credit hours must be completed in residence at Georgia Tech and approved by the department. If you do not meet this requirement, you must submit a Petition to the Faculty for review and approval.

Yes, you can study abroad during your final 36 credit hours—as long as it’s through a Georgia Tech-sponsored program.

• GT Study Abroad credits count as in-residence hours.
• Non-GT programs do not qualify under the 36-hour rule.
