MacKenzie Carvalho serves as Program Support Coordinator for Academic Student Services in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University. In this role, she oversees departmental student hiring and manages the hospital credentialing program, which enables students to observe surgical procedures and gain firsthand exposure to clinical environments. These experiences are designed to inspire innovation and identify opportunities to improve surgical efficiency and patient care.

Carvalho brings more than 13 years of experience in business management and talent recruitment. Prior to transitioning into higher education, she began her career with Special Olympics Georgia as a Sports Manager, where she coordinated statewide events serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She later joined Brasfield & Gorrie, a leading commercial construction firm, where she served as a campus recruiter, hiring engineering students for project management roles.

Carvalho earned her bachelor’s degree in business marketing from the University of Tennessee. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys international travel, spending time with her family, and binge-watching television series.
