Year 1
Admitted to Georgia Tech
  1. Responsible Conduct of Research requirement within first 90 days (online)
  2. Read Thesis and Dissertation Manual
  3. Advisor Preference Form please visit the BME Grad AO Portal App (under Year 1) to submit your Advisor Preferences Form. Need help? Email GradAO@bme.gatech.edu.
  4. Advisor - Student Financial Agreement Form
  5. Program of Study (Nov. 1)
  6. Qualifying Exam Mutual Expectations Document and Rubric
  7. Academic Background, Mutual Expectations + Honor Pledge (April 1)
Year 2
Qualifying Exam & Teaching Assistantship
  1. Qualifying Exam (scheduled Aug. 1 – Nov. 1)

Both the graduate and undergraduate programs in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering were nationally ranked no. 1 in 2023. It was a first-time top ranking for the grad program. Dedicated faculty and innovative curriculum earned the department its lofty spot and will be what keeps it there in the future.
