Master of Biomedical Innovation and Development (MBID) Program

 

The biomedical innovation and development master's program (MBID) is a full-time residential program that is completed in three sequential semesters over 12 months. The program offers current and aspiring biomedical technology professionals two outstanding career-building components in one tightly focused program: collaborative academic instruction from two top-ranked institutions in engineering and medicine, and practical, hands-on clinical experience in Atlanta's thriving biomedical industry.

  • January 15 is the application deadline for potential entry in the fall of the following year.

The MBID master’s program is a one-year residential program that is completed in three sequential semesters over 12 months. Candidates enroll in the fall semester and take four courses in the fall and spring semesters and three courses in the summer semester. Students also complete a team-based clinical project.

Requirements

The MBID master’s program requires a total of 36 credit hours. Requirements include seven required courses (21 credit hours), two graduate-level electives (6 credit hours) and a two-semester team project (9 credit hours). Elective courses can be selected from a wide variety of current graduate courses at Georgia Tech. All courses require a grade of “C” or better.

  1. Classroom and design studio courses will be taught on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.
  2. Clinical/experiential courses may be conducted at allied medical institutions and/or selected biomedical industry sites throughout the greater Atlanta area.
