Research Interests:

Biomaterials, pre-clinical & clinical performance of implantable biomaterials, biostability of implants in the clinical setting

Director of the MBID program and Professor of the Practice in the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering. He has over 30 years of pre-clinical and clinical biomaterials research and product development experience in the medical device industries. He has led the life cycle development & global commercialization of over 10 major medical device products (via both “Substantial Equivalence (510k)” and “New Product Development (IDE/PMA)” pathways) with significant business impact for cardio-thoracic, abdominal surgical, peripheral arterial and ophthalmology clinical applications.
