The metro Atlanta area is home to nearly six million people, and its numerous neighborhoods offer endless opportunities for eating, exploring and enjoying life in the city during your time at The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. We share our home in the Midtown neighborhood with young professionals, families, students, businesses, museums, theaters, restaurants and retail, as well as the city’s main central source of green space, Piedmont Park.
The Georgia Tech campus has an entrepreneurial spirit that flourishes in the startup community within Technology Square, and 16 Fortune 500 companies, including The Coca-Cola Company, UPS and The Home Depot. While Emory University is one of the Southeast's leading health care systems and one of the nation's leading research universities, located on a beautiful, leafy campus in Atlanta, Georgia's historic Druid Hills suburb. With the world’s busiest airport a few miles away, you’re easily connected to anyone and anywhere in the world.
Even without a car, the Emory shuttle lets you move easily around town from Georgia Tech to Emory in an environmentally friendly way. If you want to venture out of the city, we are famous for the north Georgia mountains which offers a relaxing getaway, as do the Chattahoochee River and numerous lakes in the state of Georgia.
