Support and coordinate the activities of the lab, and provide training and resources to undergraduate students taking research-based courses.
Responsibilities will also include performing experiments along with students; contributing to the writing of research papers; and providing the necessary resources, training and guidance to students for cell-based research, including the senior level “Quantitative Engineering Physiology II” course, as well as other elective courses and summer programs. In addition, expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the lab, including finances, ordering materials, chemical inventory and lab-related safety procedures; ability to make contributions towards research projects as demonstrated by authorship in publications; familiarity with Chematiix database as well as safety protocols needed for a research lab.
Job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a biological field.
Ability to provide research support to projects as well as managing funding, ordering etc.; experience in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and various cell-based assays, including cellular toxicity testing; proficiency in microscopic techniques including confocal microscopy
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB:
3 years of research experience in a research lab
