The purpose of the INSPIRE lab is to study physiological mechanisms underlying the control of movement in persons with catastrophic injury to their nervous system such as spinal cord injury and stroke. We conduct clinical studies to improve our knowledge of the neural structure and functions contributing to sensorimotor impairments and critically examine therapeutic interventions that target endogenous mechanisms of plasticity.
