The Coulter Translational Program is a partnership with the Biomedical Engineering Departments at Emory University and Georgia Tech. Our program funds and supports translational research that addresses unmet clinical needs and will lead to commercial products. The primary goal of the Coulter Program is to improve patient care through collaborations between clinicians and engineers to commercialize biomedical technologies.
Funding for this program comes from the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation with matching funds from both Universities. The program’s efforts are entirely philanthropic and takes no equity or IP ownership in the technologies that are selected for funding.
In the past four years, our program has awarded $4.6 million across 35 projects with a yield of more than $19 million in follow-on funding, 14 start-ups, 2 licenses and 3 products on the market.
