Coulter Translational Program

Coulter Translational Program

The Wallace H. Coulter Foundation provides an operational roadmap to accelerate and fund the translation of technological innovations that improve patient care – research directed at the transfer of promising technologies from the university research laboratory to commercial development and clinical practice.

Because of the nature of the research supported by this award, collaboration between the technical and clinical investigators is essential and required. Practicing clinicians often bring a sense of urgency, relevancy, and practicality in commercializing biomedical technology. Technical domain experts are essential to creating technologies to meet the needs defined by the clinicians.

The Emory/GT Coulter Translational Partnership (CTP) staff and your technology manager will review your application and provide competitive landscape, end user inputs, specific market dynamics and an intellectual property review. Your application will be provided to the appropriate Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) for intellectual property assessment. As appropriate, outside consultants are also engaged in due diligence on projects. The Emory/GT CTP Oversight Committee makes final decisions on awards, based on the full proposals, oral presentation, and diligence documents.
